Hello all,
Apple’s new iPhone Duo goes on sale today. We recently tested E6BJet for use on the Duo, and unfortunately discovered that E6BJet, having been developed for older versions of iOS and the iPhone, presents some significant display issues when run on the iPhone Duo.
We do not yet have a physical iPhone Duo on hand, so based on our tests with the available Apple’s development tools, E6BJet right now appears and functions correctly on the Duo’s inner display, when in portrait mode.
In landscape mode, and on the outer display, E6BJet will appear with significant portions not onscreen, and cannot be used. A lot of information is off-screen, and the controls are also not accessible.
E6BJet continues to function correctly on other iPhones, and on the iPad in full-screen mode as well.
We have already begun adapting to the Duo, and will provide more information here as we progress. However, please note that our app was conceived from the start to have a fixed size and appearance, resembling an aircraft flight guidance panel. E6BJet will have to be significantly modified to comply with Apple requirements to be fully resizable, going beyond just the requirements of the Duo.
The required changes will therefore take quite some time to implement. If you are considering purchasing E6BJet for use on an iPhone Duo, we strongly recommend you hold off until we have published version 3.00 of E6BJet. The current version is 2.70, and we expect to release version 2.80 before moving on to version 3.00.
Thank you for your understanding, feedback and support.
